Profile: Historic
Arciform is is proud to have been a part of preserving the Northwest's rich architectural history, having done historically accurate and period appropriate renovation work on a number of public and private historic properties.
A core part of Arciform's philosophy of historic preservation is that our built environment must be preserved, but keeping these structures functional and livable - thus preserving both the past AND the future - is a core part of the project. For example, modernizing the energy efficiency and performance of a building while respecting its legacy is an important way to ensure that historic structures remain both "preserved" and viable for years to come.
Arciform's expertise in restoring structures of different periods of Oregon and Washington's history comes to life through an ability to match new and salvaged materials and apply hand-craftsmanship as well as new construction techniques into existing elements. By blending the new and old, Arciform leaves finished projects with both sound engineering and a historically accurate aesthetic, thus ensuring future generations will have the opportunity to enjoy and learn from historic structures.
Beyond the craftsmanship and experience necessary to preserve and enhance historic properties, Arciform is able to navigate the complex requirements unique to these structures, from proactively engaging the preservation community to ensuring that the guidelines of bodies such as the National Historic Registry are scrupulously followed throughout the renovation process.
